Over the past several weeks we have taken you through 11 Disney Resort hotels, and the fun continues this week as we journey to Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter. This resort is filled with the pageantry of New Orleans’s historic French Quarter, complete with cobblestone streets, wrought-iron balconies, and the sounds of New Orleans jazz music!

The bayou is calling you as you take a walk along the Sassagoula River to your resort room. And do you know what else is calling you? Mickey beignets. More on that momentarily.

Located in the Disney Springs area, this resort has rooms that sleep up to four adults. There are standard, garden, pool, and river view rooms available, and guests can choose from rooms with queen or king beds.

planDisney Tip: Looking for a romantic getaway? planDisney panelists call this one of the most romantic resorts at Walt Disney World Resort.

Now let’s talk food! This resort features three phenomenal food and beverage locations. These include Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory, Scat Cat’s Club (Lounge and Café), and Mardi Grogs. Remember that mention of Mickey beignets? Well, they are back, and you can try them at Scat Cat Club’s Café. There are several different options, including a Mickey-shaped Beignet sundae, but we’re going with the tried-and-true powdered sugar-covered beignets. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner can be found at Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory. This quick-service restaurant offers amazing Cajun and Creole cuisine.

Looking for a day at the resort? Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter offers many activities for all. Plan a day at the pool and get ready for some Mardi Gras fun at Double Lagoon. Festive decorations, an all-alligator band and a blue sea serpent waterslide await you as well as a water play area, a whirlpool spa, and the Mardi Grogs pool bar.

planDisney Tip: Guests must be 48” or under to play at the Double Lagoon Water Play Area.
