The new “Cars” courtyard at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort officially opens to guests today, and I have to say that after watching the coverage of the opening of Cars Land at Disney California Adventure park last week, I’m thrilled to have a piece of Radiator Springs right here at Walt Disney World Resort to enjoy.
I stopped over at the resort earlier today, and I have to say it’s nothing short of amazing. Head straight through the resort’s main lobby, make a right-hand turn and hop on Route 66 – a winding path that draws you into Ornament Valley and to the small town of Radiator Springs. This winding “road” gives you plenty of opportunities to pause and admire the beautiful desert landscape.
The courtyard is also sprinkled with tourist stops that are taken straight out of the film, including Tow Mater’s Tow & Salvage, the Wheel Well Motel, and Sally’s Cozy Cone Motel.
The “Cars” courtyard is also populated with the residents of Radiator Springs, with Lightning McQueen, Mater, Sally, Ramone (above), Doc Hudson, Luigi, Guido and Fillmore waiting to greet you.
But don’t take my word for it. Check out the photo gallery below for your own tour along Route 66! (And thanks to photographer Matt Stroshane for these awesome shots!).
Aside from a fun courtyard and the Cozy Cone Pool, the “Cars” wing offers family suites that can accommodate up to six guests in three separate sleeping areas. Click here for more information or to book your escape to Radiator Springs now.
