Not only has Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Zootopia 2 hopped onto the big screen, brand-new easter eggs inspired by the film have also slithered over to Zootopia in Shanghai Disney Resort!
This isn’t just a screen to reality moment, it’s a groundbreaking collaboration between Walt Disney Imagineering and Walt Disney Animation Studios, where creativity flowed both ways. When Zootopia opened at Shanghai Disney Resort in 2023, Walt Disney Imagineering drew inspiration from the first film and even crafted immersive details exclusive to Shanghai.
Writer and director Jared Bush found himself inspired by the land’s vibrant streets and unique locations, such as the sheep barber shop and Zootopia Fitness, weaving those ideas into the sequel. Now, the story has come full circle with elements from Zootopia 2 making their way into the land, creating an experience that is ever evolving.
From Marsh Market to Gazelle performing her latest song “Zoo,” there are over 30 brand-new easter eggs to discover right now in Zootopia! Here’s a few to keep an eye out for during your visit.
Dive into Marsh Market
In Zootopia 2, we dove into uncharted waters with the introduction of Marsh Market — a bustling hub for semi-aquatic mammals that fans had never seen before. Now, that splash of coastal charm has made its way to Zootopia at Shanghai Disney Resort!
Keep your eyes peeled as you wander the land, from clever signposts featuring Marsh Market to a rotating billboard forecasting the weather of this new destination. You’ll even spot Marsh Market proudly marked on the updated maps.
A Queue Full of Surprises
The queue for Zootopia: Hot Pursuit has always been a treasure trove of Easter eggs, but after the release of Zootopia 2, it’s become an even wilder ride! Fans will notice that Marsh Market now joins the lineup of iconic district banners alongside Tundra Town, Sahara Square, Rainforest District and Downtown Zootopia. And with a brand-new mayor in town, it was time for an update with Mayor Winddancer’s official portrait now hanging proudly and accompanied by refreshed photos of the ZPD’s finest.
Hop over to Judy Hopps’ desk where you’ll find clues from her latest adventures, including heart-shaped sunglasses, a file with classified snake information and even a book on semi-aquatic mammals.
Meanwhile, Nick Wilde’s desk shows off his new style with a fresh shirt and tie, the key crafted by Nibbles and an updated photo of him and Judy.
Keep your eyes peeled as you move deeper into the queue. There’s a “Mammal” magazine featuring Mayor Winddancer on the cover and a cheeky sign reminding fellow animals to conserve water, courtesy of a semi-aquatic friend.
Sssensational Nod to Reptiles
Gary De’Snake is stealing hearts on the big screen and now he’s slithered his way to Zootopia at Shanghai Disney Resort! This charming reptile is making his mark across the land, starting at the land’s marquee, which now sports a stylish reptile-print design among the other animal patterns.
But Gary isn’t stopping there! He’s also slithered to Disney Zootopia Comes Alive, where he joins the city’s residents throughout the day in the windows of Zootopia’s bustling streets.
Dr. Fuzzby Arrives in Zootopia
Dr. Fuzzby’s partners counseling room has officially set up shop in Zootopia, adding another layer of personality to the city. Look up as you stroll past the Lemmings sliding their way to work, and you’ll spot the studio perched above them.
From Park to Screen
One of the most exciting details to spot are locations that debuted in the land now starring on the big screen! In Zootopia 2, sharp-eyed viewers can spot familiar spots like the sheep barber shop and the gym — both originally designed as locations just for Zootopia at Shanghai Disney Resort. These once park-exclusive locations have become part of the cinematic world, creating a seamless connection between the land and the movie.
A Finale with New Notes
The finale of Zootopia: Hot Pursuit just got an extra dose of energy! For a limited time, groove to the new hit song “Zoo” from Zootopia 2, but don’t wait too long as this special update is only available through January 27, 2026.
Celebrate in Style
For the first time at a Disney park, Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde are appearing in their dazzling Zootennial Gala fashions, straight from the sequel. They’re adding a bit of extra sparkle to the festivities through January 27, 2026, at the Main Entrance Portal, adding a touch of gala.
Judy and Nick will also appear in their brand-new Zootopia 2 outfits during the daily Mickey’s Storybook Express Parade, for a limited time through January 27, 2026.
