Star Wars fans and brick builders alike can now delight in bringing their LEGO brick-built creations to life with the new LEGO SMART Play platform, featuring new Star Wars building sets. Powered by the LEGO SMART Brick, LEGO builds can, for the first time, respond to how they are played with – a galaxy far, far away…. can now play back!
Introducing the New LEGO SMART Play Platform Featuring LEGO Star Wars

The joy of LEGO brick building continues past the construction phase with the new LEGO SMART Play platform, a new play innovation that allows brick builders to bring their LEGO creations to life like never before.
Announced today at the Consumer Electronics Show, the new LEGO SMART Play platform is one the most significant innovations in the LEGO System-in-Play since the introduction of the LEGO Minifigure in 1978.

Comprised of three platform elements – the LEGO SMART Brick, LEGO SMART Tags, and LEGO SMART Minifigures – the LEGO SMART Play system allows brick-built creations to react in real time, bringing an interactive play experience to LEGO fans of all ages.
At the heart of this innovative new system? The LEGO SMART Brick. Powered by a custom-made chip that is smaller than a standard LEGO stud, this small but mighty brick is packed with technologies that bring play to life, allowing paired LEGO SMART Tags and LEGO SMART Minifigures to become interactive and responsive.
And the (LEGO) pièce de résistance? The first LEGO SMART Play-enabled sets will be part of the LEGO Star Wars line.
Now, for the first time, a galaxy far, far away will play back with three ‘All-In-One’ LEGO Star Wars building sets: the LEGO Star Wars SMART Play: Luke’s Red Five X-Wing, the LEGO Star Wars SMART Play: Darth Vader’s TIE Fighter and the LEGO Star Wars SMART Play: Throne Room Duel & A-Wing.
For the first time in the history of LEGO Star Wars, fans and brick builders can bring the iconic sounds of Star Wars to life with fun SMART features that fans can unlock. This includes Lightsaber hums with the SMART Minifigures of Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker, the engine roar of the A-wing, and even “The Imperial March” theme music with Emperor Palpatine sitting on his throne.
All three ‘All-In-One’ LEGO Star Wars sets will come with a LEGO SMART Brick with charger and at least one LEGO SMART Minifigure and LEGO SMART tag.
The new sets will launch on March 1, 2026, on DisneyStore.com and in select markets.
