Abu Dhabi Celebrates New Disney Theme Park Resort at Yas Island

Earlier today, The Walt Disney Company and Miral announced an agreement to create a landmark Disney theme park resort in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The announcement of the region’s first-ever Disney theme park resort destination was celebrated in spectacular fashion as a stunning drone show and fireworks spectacle lit up the night sky at Yas Island.

The show, which took place at Yas Links, was set against the stunning backdrop of Yas Island’s waterfront and included global celebrities Tyrese Gibson, Naomi Campbell, Ed Westwick, and more. Guests were also treated to a live performance featuring world-renowned pianist Lang Lang alongside acclaimed Emirati singer, Rashed Alnuaimi, Kerry Ellis, and Sonya Balsara.

This new destination project will be Disney’s seventh theme park resort worldwide and will connect travelers from the Middle East to Africa, India, Asia, Europe, and beyond.

The upcoming resort promises to seamlessly blend Disney’s iconic stories, characters and attractions with Abu Dhabi’s vibrant culture, stunning shorelines, and breathtaking architecture. The new resort will be fully developed and built by Miral. Disney and its legendary Imagineers will lead creative design and operational oversight to provide a world-class experience.

Details of the new resort will be revealed as the project progresses.
