There’s nothing quite like leading a restaurant at Walt Disney World Resort, where bustling kitchens deliver world-class experiences. And Amber would know. More than 15 years after beginning her culinary journey on the Disney College Program, she is now is proudly guiding the reopening of The Garden View Lounge – Tea Experience at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.
Amber has been part of the reimagining of this cherished space since 2023, when the concept was still taking shape on paper. Her earliest focus was determining how this guest-favorite offering could return in a fresh, elevated way that still honored the classic experience.
“Guests asked me every single day when the tea room was reopening,” Amber said. “It’s been a lot of pressure, but the kind that reminds you how much this place means to people. Feeling their excitement has kept us going.”

Brewing Her Tea Expertise
Already a beverage expert thanks to earning her sommelier and cicerone certifications with Disney’s support, Amber added a new title to that list: tea master in the making. Alongside the beverage team, Amber partnered directly with Twinings Master Blenders to select eight unique blends for the experience.
“My desk looked like a science experiment,” she laughed. “Twinings taught us everything; from water temperature and steeping time to the pot, the glassware, and how to taste using all of your senses. Each session lasted several hours, but we wanted to make absolutely sure we were offering the very best service to our guests.”
And that’s certainly clear from a look at the menu. In addition to classic teas, guests of all ages can take a sip of non-caffeinated herbal teas and delightfully light refreshers.
One blend you won’t find anywhere else in the United States: the Disney-exclusive Orangery of Lady Grey, a bright twist on classic Earl Grey infused with citrus notes alongside the traditional bergamot flavor.

A Tea Experience in Wonderland
Where better to enjoy a whimsical twist on a British tea service than inside the storybook charm of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa? This reimagined experience invites you to step into the fanciful world of Disney’s Alice in Wonderland through every detail, from the stunning stained-glass windows to the towering tiers of sweet and savory bites.
“The food is incredible,” Amber shared. “Chefs Michelle and Ally created an elegant, colorful tower that tastes even better than it looks. Guests who remember the previous service will be surprised. This is an entirely new experience with imaginative touches inspired by the classic tale.”
