While anticipation is building for the May 26th premiere of the live-action version of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid,’’ several talented teens from across the nation are getting to go “under the sea’’ with the newest Ariel even sooner.
Singer and actor Halle Bailey, who will star as Ariel in the remake of the classic Disney film, has arrived at Walt Disney World Resort to be the celebrity ambassador for this year’s Disney Dreamers Academy!
The five-time Grammy-nominated singer is among several celebrities, educators, business leaders and Disney cast members taking part this week in the event, which is aimed at broadening career awareness and creating exclusive opportunities for Black students and teens from underrepresented communities.
Can you imagine getting career advice from one of the fastest-rising stars in Hollywood? What a dream come true for these 100 students, who undoubtedly have seen her on TV shows and movies like “Grown-ish,” “Let It Shine,” and “Last Holiday.”
It is just one of several amazing experiences in store for these students who will take part in immersive career workshops, networking sessions and mentorship events while also experiencing all the fun and magic that Walt Disney World Resort has to offer.
