It’s the most colorful time of the year! That’s right, the 2025 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts is in full technicolor, transforming the park into a canvas of creativity. And this year’s canvas is primed with can’t miss experiences, including the grand debut of an all-new collection that came from the imagination of one of our incredible cast members, Caley Hicks.
As a Character Art Manager, Caley is no stranger to creating art for Disney but this year, she was given her first opportunity to illustrate, design and curate unique merchandise to be displayed in her very own booth.
“I wanted to create something that really spoke to my passions and focused on the characters and stories that I love and grew up with,” Caley said. Like many of our cast members, Disney has always been a part of Caley’s life. Frequent visits to Walt Disney World with her family sparked a life-long dream of one day becoming a Disney artist.
After graduating from Ringling College of Art and Design, Caley accepted a one-of-a-kind professional creative internship with Disney and her dream felt that much closer. Now, after 14 years with the company, Caley remains humbled to live out her dream. “Disney has my heart and it’s nice to feel connected to my childhood,” she said. “It truly is a dream come true to make art that brings in memories of vacations or characters that I resonated with and saw myself in.”
Caley feels lucky to have partners and leaders who support her and continue to challenge her with new projects—like creating her own merchandise for this year’s festival.
With support from cast members across her team, Caley brought to life a fresh, colorful collection that features some familiar (and adorable) Disney animals surrounded by delightful florals. From delicate tea towels to a vibrant canvas tote bag and much more, Caley was thrilled with the finished products and shared her gratitude for the chance to color outside the lines with this special project.
Caley’s advice for aspiring artists and future magic makers: “I encourage people to make whatever inspires them and not to be afraid of your aspirations. Go for the things that bring your heart joy.”
