At Cotino – the first Storyliving by Disney community located in Rancho Mirage, California – Walt Disney Imagineers have helped to bring the iconic home of Pixar’s mightiest super family to life!
With inspiration taken straight from Disney Pixar’s Incredibles 2, the Parr House will serve as a one-of-a-kind amenity for members of the voluntary Artisan Club at Cotino community. Beyond just admiring the house’s remarkable exterior, club members can use the Parr House to celebrate milestones, host special events or even an overnight stay (for an additional fee).
As we celebrate the official opening of the Artisan Club, we wanted to take you behind-the-scenes and dive into some of the special details added by Imagineers that make this home truly incredible.

A Dash of Inspiration
When Artisan Club members visit Parr House, they feel as if they are stepping into the world of the Incredibles. From the impressive rockwork fireplace to the classic yellow laminate of the kitchen cabinets, Imagineers used inspiration from the animated home while still designing a fully functional space for members to enjoy.
“Parr House is a caricature of mid-century modern architecture,” said Caleb Wild, Walt Disney Imagineering Senior Architect. “Our goal was to exaggerate that aesthetic in a way that told an overtly Disney story while still fitting stylistically within the community.”
To make the experience even more magical, Imagineers collaborated with Pixar to produce props that layer in special details from the film. Here’s a look at our favorite Easter eggs:

Cereal Boxes – Kitchen
They might look like delicious snacks, but these aren’t your average cereal boxes— Fiber O’s and Sugar Bombs are breakfast cereals eaten by the Parr family in the film!

Parr Family Bulletin Board – Kitchen
With a keen eye, you may notice some special details and nods to the film on the family’s bulletin board located just outside the kitchen.
Whether it’s Dash’s track meet, Jack Jack’s doctor appointment, or Bob and Helen’s date night with Lucius and Honey, the calendar provides a snapshot into the daily lives of the Parrs. The events scribbled on the calendar are even written in either Bob or Helen’s handwriting! The team was able to recreate their penmanship through close study of both “Incredibles” films.
Below the calendar is a collection of themed memorabilia, including a flyer for The Happy Platter – the restaurant where Violet’s unforgettable water mishap occurs. To the right are two postcards, including from the Safari Motel where the Parrs spent some time after their house was destroyed by a vengeful Syndrome. Another card is from Nomanisan Island where the Parr family first fought against Syndrome’s evil bots and henchmen.

“Mr. Incredible Sings” – Art Studio
In the home’s art studio, designed to celebrate the overall theme of Cotino as a creative oasis, visitors will find a framed vinyl record titled “Mr. Incredible Sings.”
Featured in the first film, this album draws attention to the creative inspiration of the room, as well as a special nod to one of Bob’s many abilities. Complete with custom art pieces and specially chosen wall coverings, the design choices of the space reflect Helen and Bob’s characters.
Doozles are Dozing – Jack -Jack’s Room
Throughout the time that Jack -Jack discovers his powers, you may remember a certain bedtime story that actually put Bob to sleep. Visitors will find a copy of the “Doozles are Dozing” children’s book on one of the shelves in a guest bedroom.

New Math for Life – Dash’s Room
A book that haunts every parent’s nightmares (especially Bob’s!) – a math textbook. Brought to life from another incredibly memorable scene, Dash’s “New Math for Life” textbook can be found in the second guest room. Don’t worry, members won’t be subject to a grueling tutoring session like the one between Bob and Dash… “Math is math!”

Framed Magazine Covers – Auntie Edna’s Room
Now really, who could forget about Edna Mode!?
“When we were creating the list of props, we were really inspired by what character would inspire each room,” said Lorenzo Salazar, Walt Disney Imagineering Senior Interior Designer. “For Edna, we ended up with these really great magazine covers we thought she would have framed. Of course ones that featured her, wrote an article about her and painted her in a fantastic light.”
Located in the hallway just outside Edna’s suite, guests can view these stunning magazine covers that feature some of Edna’s greatest designs (with no capes, of course!).
We are so excited to celebrate the latest milestone for Cotino and this special nod to Pixar’s mightiest family of Supers.
“I think all of our Disney touches throughout the Artisan Club, and especially the Parr House, really elevate the inspiration that I hope people will feel when they’re at Cotino,” Salazar said. “I think we’ve created a place that celebrates not only the Disney legacy, but the legacy of the desert and of the greater Palm Springs area.”
