Asteria Updates: News and More from the Latest Storyliving by Disney Community

A brand-new tale is beginning in the heart of North Carolina, and it has us heading in an exciting direction.

Introducing The Compass: your directional dial and go-to guide for everything coming to life at Asteria, the newest Storyliving by Disney community.

Designed as a campus of discovery, the Asteria community will be built around curiosity, connection, and exploration. It will be a place where neighbors can enjoy everyday moments together with an added touch of Disney magic.

Asteria is inspired by the natural beauty of North Carolina and will be shaped with the same care and creativity that guides everything Disney does.

There’s so much to discover, and we’re just getting started. Here’s the latest Asteria updates and news:

If you’ve been following along with Storyliving by Disney, you know every detail helps tell each community’s story. At Asteria, those details start right at the entrance, where residents will be welcomed home through an entryway inspired by the Carolina landscape and an added touch of Disney storytelling.

Today, we’re sharing a first look at that entryway, the place where the Asteria story begins.

Like the broader community, the entryway at Asteria is designed with creative guidance from Walt Disney Imagineering to reflect the natural beauty and character of North Carolina’s Piedmont region.

The land helps set the stage with topography that rises just beyond the entry before gently falling, creating a subtle reveal. Stone sourced from the site, including metavolcanic rock, quartz, and rhyolite, will be used throughout the entryway design. Built in the regional tradition of dry stacking, these materials will help connect the entryway to the land that inspired it.

One of the entryway’s signature elements will be a moon gate, an arched gateway that frames the landscape beyond. As residents and visitors pass through, the moon gate will create a memorable moment of arrival and offer a first look at the thoughtful details planned throughout Asteria.

That same attention to detail will continue throughout Asteria, where landscape, architecture, and community gathering spaces are being designed to encourage exploration and connection with a touch of Disney magic.

Across the community, residents will find design details and shared spaces that reflect the natural setting and invite everyday moments of discovery.

The entry is only the start of what is planned for Asteria. We look forward to sharing more details as this beautiful new community takes shape.

The Second Star Club is coming to Asteria. As the social heart of the community, the club will feature inspired spaces for gathering, creativity, and wellness, all designed by Walt Disney Imagineering.

Soon, members can enjoy morning yoga under the Carolina sky, learn something new from a Disney expert, make new friends during a tennis match, or cheer on their home team at the signature restaurant.
