Step Into a Festive Fairytale and Shop at Disney Store Times Square

I truly believe there’s nothing quite like New York during the holidays, which is why I recently found myself braving the cold and crowds of Times Square on a brisk morning to take in the seasonal sights. At this time of year, the city feels even more electric than usual, the streets are overflowing with jolly decor, and many people (myself included) make the journey to the Big Apple with one goal in mind – shopping.

Maybe you’re browsing the holiday markets, on a mission to check every item off your wish list, or are simply just admiring the stunning window displays, but regardless, there’s no shortage of spots to get your shopping fix. For me, a must-visit merchandise destination, especially during the holiday season, has always been Disney Store in Times Square.

Tucked away from the bright lights and bustling streets of Broadway is Disney Store Times Square, a 20,000-square-foot slice of Disney magic containing two floors full of product, themed displays, photo ops, and holiday cheer. I have many memories of visiting during childhood trips to NYC and was a frequent shopper throughout the years I lived in the city. So now, I’m taking you along with me as I explore the store in all its festive glory.

I arrived just in time for their magical opening ceremony, where cast members select one lucky shopper to unlock the store, and even take home a small key replica to commemorate the experience. It’s a super sweet sprinkle of pixie dust to start each day!  

With the store officially open, I set off on my shopping spree.

Upon entering the space, you are immediately immersed in a whimsical winter wonderland – who would believe that the chilly air and busy crowds were just steps away outside? The friendly faces of Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and many other beloved Disney characters are there to greet you, along with larger-than-life decor and displays at every turn. 

The store is organized into different sections, such as home goods and toys, and the welcoming cast members are always there to lend a hand, answer any questions, and help you find the perfect souvenir. This is truly the Disney difference – the way our cast members go above and beyond at any Disney destination is something that always warms my heart. 

The NYC-themed items immediately caught my eye, since select items are available only here in Disney Store Times Square. If you’re a loyal Loungefly mini backpack collector, in need of a new coffee mug or tumbler for your holiday beverage, looking for a cozy sweatshirt to bundle up with, or want a hat to top off your street style – Disney Store Times Square has it all.

Classic symbols of NYC can be spotted across all these products, including taxis, soft pretzels, the city skyline, and of course, the Statue of Liberty.

Speaking of the Statue of Liberty, the store cast members shared that the Minnie Mouse Lady Liberty Plush is one of their most popular items, and I can certainly see why! The combination of these two icons makes for a picture-perfect plush – it will be an amazing addition to my apartment decor since much of it is an ode to New York.  

I also got an up-close look at some other best-selling items, including the NYC-themed pins. For our passionate pin traders and collectors out there, you must make your way to Times Square and see these for yourself!

There’s holiday decor to discover in every corner of the store, too. Glittering Mickey Mouse-shaped wreaths are sprinkled throughout the shelves, glistening ornaments hang from the ceiling, and other glimmering goodies like gift-wrapped presents, Santa’s sled, and bows are all around.

You may even spot cutouts or snapshots of Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and their friends dressed in their festive best.

I couldn’t resist grabbing one of these Disney Store Mickey Mouse Reindeer Holiday Plush, available only on DisneyStore.com and at Disney Store locations – look at how cute and cuddly they are! With a soft reindeer suit, sparkly red bowtie, and “Disney Store 2025” embroidered on his foot, this is an adorable seasonal keepsake that has already found its place on my desk in California.

A whole other world of wonder awaits when you venture up to the second floor, and the glowing lanterns from Tangled guide you on your journey up the escalator. It’s not just a simple staircase to help you get from point A to point B, it feels magical and transportive in a way that Disney does best. 

My shopping journey continued upstairs, where I was immediately greeted by a wall of even more plush – the possibilities are endless! Pick from different sizes (likely based on how much room you have left in your luggage) – whether you want a teeny tiny Urupocha-Chan from Disney Store Japan, or a large stuffed friend to snuggle up with.

This space was filled with even more holiday details, NYC iconography, and products I’ve spotted at Disney Parks that have made their way to the concrete jungle. The Fantasia collection is one I was especially excited about – Sorcerer Mickey is my favorite!

The centerpiece of the store is without a doubt the magnificent castle and Disney Princess displays. This was so satisfying for my inner child, seeing the sparkling Princess gowns, majestic castle, and more toys than I could even count.

It’s not just the castle façade, you can step inside its walls to shop for a stunning selection of Disney Princess products – no wishing upon a star needed.

The Tangled 15^th anniversary collection seemed to be a fan-favorite, with items like a Loungefly bag, spirit jersey, ear headband, and a limited-edition Rapunzel doll to take home. I saw many shoppers make a beeline right for this display once the doors opened, and that doll was flying off the shelves!

There were plenty of other Disney Princess playsets, LEGOs, and dolls up here as well – if you’ve got a little one in your life that loves these characters, we may have just found your one-stop-shop to help you tackle their regal wish list.

Disney Store Times Square perfectly brings the joy of Disney straight to the heart of New York City, especially during the holidays. Whether it’s the select merchandise that you can’t find anywhere else, the craving for a distinctly Disney experience, or that unmatched Manhattan energy drawing you here, every visit feels special. It is the dream destination for fans to uniquely shop, be immersed in the magic, and make lasting memories – just like I did.
