New Mystery Trash Cans Create a Phenomenon at Hong Kong Disneyland

New Push Mystery Figurine trash cans at Hong Kong Disneyland

There’s a new, hot item at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort! And no, it’s not the latest ear headband or a snazzy new hoodie, trash is the talk of the town this season — litter-ally.

When the all-new, exclusive Push Mystery Figurine set hit the shelves in Hong Kong, there was no time to waste as guests began collecting and trading their finds. Available in stores around Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, each box contains one randomly selected figurine that looks just like the iconic, themed trash cans around the park.

World of Frozen, Toy Story Land, Tomorrowland, “it’s a small world,” Main Street U.S.A and last, but certainly not least, the famous PUSH the Talking Trash Can in Fantasyland are among the six you might pull from a box.

With so many potential styles to choose from, the masterminds behind the collection, Amy and Rachel, shared that they walked the park several times, comparing each and every one before landing on the coveted final six.

The top priority was to choose something colorful, allowing the themes to be distinguished from one another and catch the eye of potential collectors. From the start, PUSH, the talking trash can who roams around Fantasyland engaging with guests, was a must to include and actually inspired the entire collection to begin with!

“At the time, we wanted to create something unique to the park, and I immediately thought of making a mini-PUSH because of its popularity,” shared Amy. “We landed in this direction and decided to make a mini trash can mystery set of six.”

And who knew that six miniature figures would create such a phenomenon at the resort! Not only are guests snatching up this exclusive item, they’re even coming to the park in their very own trash-tastic looks.

Amy and Rachel have been taken aback by the popularity of their creation. In fact, it’s become a special moment in their careers.

“This toy trash can collection has also become a memorable part of my journey. I’m really grateful for the support from my team and my leaders,” shared Rachel. “Everyone contributed their ideas to make it a hit. Seeing a product I helped plan—from the concept and production to its market launch—become so well-loved by everyone brings me great satisfaction.”

We can’t wait to get our hands on these mini figures the next time we’re at Hong Kong Disneyland!
