“The Most Magical Party of All” has officially kicked off at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort! And to celebrate the 20th anniversary, the resort even welcomed the debut of an all-new daytime parade.
From dazzling floats that include the first-ever Casa Madrigal from the Walt Disney Animation Studios film Encanto to elements of Hong Kong incorporated throughout, we’re diving into five facts that are sure to make you say WOW — and have you grabbing a front row seat too.

Largest Parade at Hong Kong Disneyland
Turning 20 is a big deal and Hong Kong Disneyland rolled out its largest parade yet to celebrate. “Friendtastic!” features 11 floats, over 100 performers, and 30 Disney characters, bringing the party to the streets in a way that’s never been seen before at the park.

Duffy and Friends Make Their Big Debut
Duffy and Friends are making their big debut in “Friendtastic!” For the first time, you can catch these lovable friends on their very own float. That’s not all; there’s even an all-new song that was created to accompany Duffy and Friends as they make their way through the park. You can have a listen here:

Encanto Casa Madrigal Comes to Life
Drawers! Floors! Doors! The Casa Madrigal from Encanto has come to life in a parade for the first time.

It’s completely fantastical and magical as the casita’s windows, floors and roof tiles dance along in a way that’s full of music and rhythm. Be sure you keep an eye out for all the members of Family Madrigal who can be found all throughout the float.

Touches of Hong Kong in the Parade
With a parade that’s made for Hong Kong, it was important to include elements that represent its home throughout. On the opening and finale floats, you’ll notice colorful flowers blossoming. These are inspired by the Bauhinia flower, which represents Hong Kong and can be found on its flag.

As for the Zootopia skyline, inspiration was found just a few miles over in the city of Hong Kong. If you look closely, you’ll see a sign for Lion Rock, which is a mountain that can be found in the city.
There’s also signage for “Cowoon,” which plays off the area of Kowloon and, of course, there’s a bubble tea billboard, which is a well-loved drink by those in Hong Kong.

Mickey Mouse is Bringing Back Drumming
Have you missed Mickey Mouse playing the drums as much as we have! He’s back showing off his skills just for “Friendtastic!”. And if you’re wondering if he’s playing live? Well, of course he is!
