At Disneyland Paris, wish children are all “stars” … and so are our cast! In preparation for World Wish Day, Disneyland Paris hosted a radiant Wish Weekend from April 26 to April 28 where 85 Make-A-Wish children from 12 different countries across Europe got to experience their most heartfelt wish become a dazzling reality.
Inspired by the song “I’m a Star” from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ latest animated feature film, “Wish,” these children and their families got to enjoy unique, out-of-this-world experiences like a “Wish Upon a Star” breakfast, a parade led by none other than Asha herself and, of course, special greetings that left everyone with smiles as bright as shooting stars! But how did all this magic come to life? Who are the heroes behind these magical experiences?
For 32 years, Disneyland Paris has been delivering joy for more than 20,000 critically ill children and their families thanks to the tremendous dedication of cast members committed to this mission. Whether dedicating their time volunteering, bringing the magic to life at attractions or working in the entertainment department, these passionate cast members are the heart and soul of wish-granting. Marie Françoise, wish fulfillment program coordinator, explained, “It is the coming together of people like them who wish to spread Disney magic that makes wish granting so special.”
There is nothing quite like witnessing the sheer joy on a child’s face when they step into a world where anything is possible. Making wishes come true is at the core of everything we do at Disney. We’ve worked alongside our friends at Make-A-Wish for nearly 45 years to grant more than 155,000 Disney wishes together.
So, here’s to our cast members – the ones who sprinkle pixie dust on moments and turn wishes into reality. Because at Disney, every wish child is a “star,” and our cast members? Well, they shine just as bright.
