Michelin-Starred Chef Opens NEW Restaurant at Disneyland Paris

Chef Jean Imbert, Disneyland Paris

For the first time ever at Disneyland Paris, a Michelin-starred chef has taken over an all-new restaurant at Disneyland Hotel! Complete with dishes inspired by the greatest Disney films in an enchanting forest-themed space, it’s a one-of-a-kind, French fine dining experience unlike anything ever created at the resort.

Now open at Disneyland Hotel, Chef Jean Imbert is bringing his talents to the new restaurant, La Forêt Secrète par Jean Imbert. It’s a full circle moment as he spent his childhood frequenting Disneyland Paris, which evolved into a passion for Disney stories as an adult.

“I have a very special connection with Disneyland Paris because all the magic of the films that I dream about comes to life here. This restaurant is strongly influenced by my childhood memories, particularly when I would come to the park, as well as my favorite films. I am thrilled to contribute to showcasing French gastronomy in Europe’s number one tourist destination,” shared Jean Imbert.

The beauty of Disney stories is that they transcend generations and the chef made sure guests of all ages would have the experience of a lifetime at La Forêt Secrète par Jean Imbert. Not only has he developed five-course and three-course menus, for the first time in his career, he also created a special menu just for children.

Taking inspiration from the many iconic Disney movies, no detail was left forgotten. The culinary journey begins with an Under the Sea seafood starter inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studio’s The Little Mermaid or Mrs. Pott’s brew, which transports guests to Beast’s Castle in Disney Animation’s Beauty and the Beast with root vegetable ravioli and a vegetable and truffle broth.

The story continues with Prince Ali’s tagine, taking inspiration from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Aladdin and features a poularde ballotin stuffed with dates and dried fruits served with vegetables. For fans of the Pirates of the Caribbean films, the Caribbean casserole presents a combination of Mediterranean bluefin tuna, a tangy passion fruit vinaigrette with a Colombo spice and tamarind sauce. Located right outside the city of Paris, there’s of course a Remy’s Ratatouille inspired by the Pixar Animation Studios film Ratatouille.

The children’s menu is complete with familiar flavors, while also offering younger guests an opportunity to try something new. From the delectable Fairy Godmother’s Soup with red kuri squash gnocchi and chestnut to The Lantern Festival fish and chips with tartar sauce inspired by Disney Animation’s Tangled, the dishes are both fun and sophisticated.

To top off the meal, Chef Jean Imbert and pastry chef Axel Michenau collaborated on an assortment of dessert options for both adults and kids. The journey continues with a Lost art shortbread, made with candied lemon and almond crumble, enhanced by ice cream, vanilla mousse and drizzled with flowing caramel, from Lucasfilm’s classic Indiana Jones film Raiders of the Lost Art. For those who prefer chocolate, they’ve created Mickey’s Soufflé, complete with Peruvian chocolate, hazelnut praline insert and hazelnut ice cream.

For the younger guests, they can enjoy desserts such as Chip ’n’ Dale’s hazelnut ice cream with hot chocolate emulsion or Little Jean’s fruit salad with a crispy tuile and vanilla sauce.

Not only are these dishes inspired by the many Disney stories on screen, you can also find similar attractions at Disneyland Paris, from Pirates of the Caribbean to Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril over at Disneyland Paris Park and even Ratatouille: The Adventure in Walt Disney Studios Park.

The creativity continues into the design of the space, which feels as if you’ve stepped into an enchanted forest. The majestic chandelier adorned with foliage and birds dazzles over the space and a hand-painted mural depicts a forest in many shades of green. These details were even translated into the dining ware, which includes botanical-themed dishes designed by Bernardaud House, along with a selection of silverware from Christofle.

You’re not going to want to miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime kind of dining experience at Disneyland Paris! As spaces are limited, we recommend booking your table as soon as possible.
