At Droid Depot in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort, you can bring home a few loyal companions of your own, from colorful, custom-built droids to the latest arrivals on Batuu.

Small in stature but truly unforgettable since their on-screen debut in Return of the Jedi, Ewoks have charmed generations of Star Wars fans with their courage, curiosity, and unmistakable personality.

Soon, beginning August 13, 2026, you’ll have the chance to purchase an interactive Ewok companion inside Droid Depot at Disneyland park, kicking off the initial launch of the Batuu Adventure Buddies collection. Plus, you can customize your Ewok with themed gear sets inspired by iconic destinations and beloved characters from across the galaxy, for an additional fee.

Available for purchase at Disneyland park starting on August 13, 2026, the Ewok is the first of three new Batuu Adventure Buddies interactive toys coming to Droid Depot at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. At a later date, the other two buddies will become available at Disneyland, and the full collection will debut at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

These toys have been crafted by a scrappy crew of Anzellan manufacturers, brought to life with expressive eyes, motorized facial expressions, and a mix of signature sounds, including giggles, laughs, and chatter that helps showcase their delightful personalities. Each Ewok can also interact with other droids sold inside Droid Depot.

Meanwhile, tapping a single time on its head or tapping twice on their belly triggers random responses, while three quick, consecutive head taps enable two special animations:

For those looking to outfit their energetic companion with the latest styles so you’re equipped to take down any lurking AT-STs, three themed gear packs add flair and interactive play opportunities.

These accessories aren’t just decorative either. The food, toys, and tools that come with the gear sets connect directly to your pal’s left hand and trigger unique animations, sounds, and reactions.

The experience begins with a visit to a dedicated wall bay inside Droid Depot, where a cast member will help guests select their companion and preferred accessories. Once a character has been chosen, guests participate in a special activation moment that brings their new friend to life for the very first time, before travelers are free to set off to explore the rest of Batuu with their new companion.

While the new Batuu Adventure Buddies may soon be the talk of the outpost, you can also choose the classic path of purchasing and constructing one of the galaxy’s most indispensable sidekicks at Droid Depot.

Inside this rusted, chaotic, and whimsical space inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, you’ll spot various models of droids from across the Star Wars saga, including some that are instantly recognizable and others that require a bit of inspection. Parts, chips, manuals, and other tech items are scattered across the workshop, allowing potential builders to understand what it takes to build a droid, and how your new travel companion might interact with the surrounding environment.

After checking in with a cast member upon your arrival, you’ll receive a blueprint and a metal basket to place droid parts into as you begin to assemble your model, allowing you to choose from one of four droid models:

Once you’ve put together a game plan of what type of astromech you want to construct, walk up to the conveyor belt inside the store and choose from parts that come in a variety of colors, while keeping in mind that only the designated builder will be allowed to build the droid inside the shop.

This is where your creativity can truly come into play, allowing you to put together a droid that could be inspired by your favorite character from the films or some of your favorite colors. Personally, I’ve constructed a red and white R-Series model in the proud spirit of R5-D4 from Episode IV in the past, and it still stands as a triumphant ode to my Star Wars fandom at home.

Once you’ve collected your parts, approach the build station and prepare to put your new pal together. Here, you’ll be able to build, detail, and activate your new droid with the assistance of a cast member, pressing an “Alert Tech” button at your station once you’ve put the finishing touches on your new take-home friend and eventually bringing your droid to life.

Yet the adventures continue. After activation, you may also purchase droid voice chips, accessories, droid-making kits, pre-made droids, and even some premium droids to help further customize your creation. And yes, new sounds, fresh looks, and techy upgrades can surely help transform a newly assembled astromech into a one-of-a-kind companion ready to navigate the twists and turns of Black Spire Outpost.

By the time you’re rolling out of the workshop, your new friend is no longer just a collection of clustered parts and scrap metal. It’s the newest member of your crew, built for the next chapter of your Star Wars story at Disney Parks.
