5 Blasts from Halloweens Past at Tokyo Disney Resort

This Halfway to Halloween, we’re thrilled to share the return of “Disney Halloween” at Tokyo Disney Resort from September 15 to October 31, 2023. As we wait in anticipation for the most wonderful season of all — at least according to us Halloween lovers — we are looking back on our favorite blasts from the past at Tokyo Disney Resort. While these festive parades, mystical merch and more have long since passed, we invite you to take a stroll with us down memory lane!

1. Put on Your Dancing Shoes with “Halloween Pop ‘n Live”

Premiered for the first time in 2016, “Halloween Pop’n Live” at Tokyo Disneyland was the perfect opportunity to put on your dancing shoes and join a music festival-style parade led by Goofy. Alongside ghosts and skeletons, Disney Friends were dressed as jack-o’-lanterns, witches and more. The note-worthy floats featured various genres of music from The Three Little Pigs dancing to pop, Chip ‘n Dale swinging to jazz, and more.

2. A Frightfully Fun Time During “Spooky ‘Boo!’ Parade”

Packed with Halloween chills and thrills, the debut of “Spooky ‘Boo!’ Parade” in 2018 was a frightfully fun time! The ghosts were thrilled to welcome Disney friends to a ghostly version of Tokyo Disneyland, featuring floats inspired by various attractions and themed lands. This eerie transformation included a Western River Railroad operated by a skeleton, black carrousel horses, jack-‘o-lantern teacups and more.

3. Festival of Mystique Brings Frightful Fun

A celebration to remember at the Mediterranean Harbor in Tokyo DisneySea, Mickey Mouse and friends opened the show with bewitching music and dancing — although it wouldn’t be Halloween without a spellbinding turn of events! The jubilation came to a screeching halt as Sea Witches attempted to bring the festivities under their control. Mickey and his friends quickly stepped into action to release the fishing village from the evil spell. This spine-chilling show even included mysterious merch from a batwing cape to spider-web-pattern lace gloves, and more!

4. Dress to Impress at “Villains Halloween Party”

Do you have what it takes to impress a Disney Villain? Those working for the mischievous group were on hand at the American Waterfront in Tokyo DisneySea to let you in on their secrets! Sharing their insight on worthy fashion and dance moves to dazzle, everyone walked away prepared to meet this wicked group — whether that be under the sea with Ursula or Hades in the underworld.

5. Décor to Devilishly Dazzle

We can’t forget the frighteningly fabulous décor found at Tokyo Disney Resort over the years! From happy ghosts and pumpkins around Tokyo Disneyland to entering the world of Disney Villains at Tokyo DisneySea, the Halloween season is a must-see here.

We can’t wait for all that’s in store so very soon at Tokyo Disney Resort! Be sure to check out more Halfway to Halloween fun at our international parks as we share ghoulish delights from Hong Kong Disneyland, Shanghai Disney Resort and Disneyland Paris.
