Get a Sneak Peek of the Disney Believe… If You Can Solve These Puzzles

It’s time to set sail… however, this Disney cruise will be like no other!

For the next three days I’m taking you with me on a scavenger hunt aboard the Disney Wish to find clues about the new experiences and offerings coming to Disney Cruise Line’s next ship, the Disney Believe.

I’ll be joining a hosted group of content creators and media who will be coming onboard this week to help tell the story of the Disney Believe. It’s up to us to solve all the mysteries before the ship’s reveal takes place later this week.

I hope you’ll follow along, share your guesses, and discover if you’re right by tuning in this Wednesday, October 7, at 4:30 p.m. ET on the Disney Parks YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. The livestream for the official reveal will announce all the news hinted at during the scavenger hunt, including Disney Believe’s homeport, itineraries, themed venues, and entertainment.

Now, who’s ready to decipher some clues?

The excitement was palpable as everyone gathered in Luna to hear the opening remarks for this one-of-a-kind experience. To my surprise, we had the most special guest kick things off for us – Trent Hitchcock, the opening Cruise Director for the Disney Believe!

For those of you who don’t know Trent yet, it’s my pleasure to introduce you to the person who will be overseeing the entertainment, youth spaces, and recreation onboard the newest Disney Cruise Line ship.

He passed along a few nuggets of wisdom to our group, arming us with the scavenger hunt tips we’ll need to uncover the secrets of the Disney Believe before the ship is revealed. And he let us know that every task has a meaning and every clue is intentional.

The first task was a group puzzle. As the crowd dispersed into three separate groups, each team went to work to decode the hidden meaning behind their challenge, looking for a single number.

All at once, numbers were shouted in the crowd as people started to decipher their puzzle.

“6, 7, no… it has to be 3!”

Finally, the numbers 7-2-3 were displayed on stage. But what did it mean?

“Well, 723 is the Disney Believe,” shared Trent. “You see, when cruise ships are built at a shipyard, they are assigned a hull number. Our friends at Walt Disney Imagineering have lots of fun hiding that number in the design as a little nod to every ship’s beginning. And at Meyer Werft Shipyard, the Disney Believe’s hull designation is – you guessed it – 723! Which means… we have some news from the shipyard.”

And with that the president of Disney Signature Experiences, Natacha Rafalski came to the stage to share our first bit of news! Just a few days ago, the team celebrated a new milestone for the Disney Believe by holding the ship’s keel laying ceremony.

Honoring a longstanding maritime custom, a specially crafted coin featuring Tinker Bell was ceremonially welded to the ship’s keel block to bring good fortune to the ship and its future crew.

After getting a first look at photos from the keel laying ceremony, we were joined by Hugo and Beatrice, a pair of Story Sea-kers that joined our group just for this special celebration. These lively travelers and explorers, known for story searching themselves, helped us kick start our own story hunt to uncover the tales behind the Disney Believe.

With our 723 warm up complete, everyone was ready for the bigger challenges to commence!

As part of the next clue, our group was tasked with finding a special porthole on the ship, and it was clear the portholes contained a hidden word. But what does it mean?

Well, that hidden word within the porthole brought me to another puzzle to unscramble with my teammates. Before I could finish picking out the different letters to form a word, others in my group were already saying “Ariel.”

Thankful for a speedy group to work with, we shared that Ariel’s hair is red to our Story Keeper and were handed a letter with well-known tunes from The Little Mermaid. Now, this was my time to shine! I’ve sung enough Disney songs in the past to fly through the list:

Make your way to the place where nightingales sing and share your answers to receive your handsome reward and continue your storybook journey.

With the missing words from this list above, I made my way to the next location — Nightingale’s, also known as my favorite piano bar. However, this was no casual trip to the whimsical lounge. Once we shared our word bank from the latest puzzle, we were met with a reward I wasn’t expecting until Wednesday’s livestream… a first look at an offering coming to the Disney Believe.

It turned out, each porthole mystery led to a different brand-new food and beverage item coming to the ship. But let’s not forget to ask, what do these items mean? Is it another clue for a venue, a show, or maybe a character? Only time will tell!

But with that, we’re done for the first day, so make sure to come back tomorrow. Only time will tell what else will be revealed!

It’s a brand-new day, which means more hints and clues were on the way! I could barely sleep as I eagerly waited to start the morning at Fairytale Hall within the Disney Oceaneer Club. With a quick ride down the slide, I met our friend Rapunzel inside.

She was on the lookout as well but for her mischievous chameleon friend, Pascal. After a quick scan of the space, it turned out Pascal was curled up right next to the very clue I was looking for, which led us to a mini bucket and a trip to a group of paintings guided by the Northern Spirits.

“Greetings Story Sea-ker,

Congratulations on getting this far. We believe stories are more fun when you discover them for yourself. So… here is a clue to your next adventure.

Fill the bucket with _ _ _

To reveal the answer, climb the forward stairs to seven and a half and locate a group of paintings guided by the Northern Spirits. Study each frame closely to find the hidden letters.

The stones are shaped like this letter 

The left antler resembles this letter

The third letter in the taller character’s name

Whisper the word to the Story Keeper to receive your next clue.”

Are you seeing what I saw? With the response “ice” ready to go, I shared the answer to a nearby Story Keeper.

To my surprise, there was a glow ice cube waiting for us along with another clue, leading us to our next location.

Traveling back to the year when two brothers started it all —1923—we were tasked to find the drum hidden in plain sight to decipher who we’d bring the ice to.

With our missing letters etched between a mighty tree and crashing waves, it became clear when reading from left to right that Oaken at Arendelle was who we’d be looking for next.

Off to trade with Oaken of Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post and Sauna, many “hoo-hoo’s” were shared as we discussed swapping opportunities. Even though a cozy sweater would be nice when relaxing in the Grand Hall, I ended up going with the bingo card to help on the Story-Hunt!

My course complete, I made my way to Marceline Market, refueled on the most delicious chicken tenders, and walked over to the Grand Hall for a special edition ship-wide trivia session for everyone onboard.

Hosted by Trent, Disney Cruise Line’s largest trivia event included questions about Disney stories that will be coming to the Disney Believe.

I’m usually stumped by every session of Disney Cruise Line trivia, with a batting average of 10 out of 20, so don’t look at me for your next trivia answer. However, I’m happy to share a clue with you instead… tomorrow we’ll be starting our day at Disney Castaway Cay to discover more treasure!

The sun was shining. The water was calm. Today was the perfect day to slather on some sunscreen and make our way to Castaway Cay before the big reveal this evening.

But before leaving the ship, I needed coffee to function and restore my energy for the day. Straying from my usual Salted Caramel Coconut Latte this morning, I was surprised with a Royal Voyage Latte featuring Prince Eric stamped onto it… Immediately my mind started wondering, how will Eric be joining us today in the Bahamas?

Caffeinated and ready to go, we made our way ashore.

Continuing the fun on the island, I was offered three different activities to reach my first clue: snorkeling, a sand puzzle, or a bike ride.

This journey was up to the adventurer, and I decided to make my way to the puzzle near the Sand Bar because a puzzle hates to see me coming. Game face on and hair pulled back; I went to work pulling out the pieces from the sandbox to form the picture together.

As everything came together, an image of Mirabel from Studios’ Encanto appeared and led me to my next question: When did Encanto premiere? With my number “2021” I went to unlock my treasure chest with the key and unveiled a treasure map that would take me to my next three locations on the island.

Starting from left to right on my new map, I made my way to the Mickey and Minnie Cove Cabanas, so I could receive my ticket for the Disney Believe reveal.

But quick, a pit stop to grab some soft-serve ice cream because we are celebrating an exciting day with Disney Cruise Line, and the best way to do that is with a sweet treat!

Puzzle piece secured, it became clear that our last puzzle of the scavenger hunt was going to be the ticket itself.

On a mission to bring that ticket to life, it was time to go to Summertime Freeze for the next piece… and apparently, an Olaf sipper to go with it. But is this just a coincidence? What does Olaf have to do with it?

Questions stirring in my mind, I could not contain my excitement with only one spot remaining. With a relaxing stroll over to Boat Beach, I found my final puzzle piece and friend Moana. Now that is the perfect way to end a Story-Hunt.

Many questions were solved, but so many answers remained. I’m ready for the big event.

And now, what we’ve all been working toward! Every story we uncovered and un-puzzled has led to this moment. Tonight, the grand reveal of the magic coming to sea next year will be livestreamed on Disney Parks at 4:30 p.m. ET.
