As excitement builds for the release of Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu on May 22, lifelong Star Wars fan and Disneyland Resort cast member, Jennifer Baillere, recently experienced a dream come true when she was surprised with an invitation to attend the film’s world premiere.
Today, Jennifer works as an area manager at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge inside Disneyland park, where she helps bring the stories and adventures of a galaxy far, far away…. to life for guests every day. But Jennifer’s connection to Star Wars began long before helping guests explore Batuu.

“My parents showed us the films all the time growing up,” Jennifer shared. “We would ask to watch them over and over again.”
She remembers learning Star Wars films were in development and becoming captivated by the idea that the galaxy’s story was continuing. “That’s when I knew I was a huge fan,” she said.
Over the years, that fandom became deeply woven into nearly every aspect of her life. Jennifer met her husband through a Star Wars fan group in 2007, the couple has Star Wars wedding rings, and even named their children Anakin and Amidala.
“We live and breathe it constantly,” Jennifer said. “Now we get to pass that love of Star Wars down to our kids.”
That lifelong passion recently came full circle when Disney surprised Jennifer with the opportunity to attend the world premiere of Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood. As she stepped onto the red carpet surrounded by droids and fellow fans, Jennifer said the moment felt surreal.
During the event, Jennifer had the opportunity to explore immersive themed experiences inspired by the film while celebrating alongside cast, filmmakers, and fans from around the world. She also had a blast on the press line, excitedly spotting and identifying talent as stars arrived throughout the evening.
From seeing Grogu-themed displays to taking in the excitement of the premiere atmosphere, she said the evening was something she and he husband will never forget.
For Jennifer, the experience also reflected what makes Star Wars resonate so deeply with audiences across generations. “The themes of good versus evil, the hero’s tale, and the idea that you can be no one and become someone, that’s what connects with people,” she said.
That same emotional connection is something Jennifer now hopes to create for guests every day in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
“Working in Galaxy’s Edge has been, in the words of Hondo, ‘the opportunity of a lifetime,’” Jennifer said. “I get to live my Star Wars dream every day. I get to hear the music, see the fans, and share it with fellow cast members who have their own passion for it too.”
Over the years, Jennifer has built a career rooted in storytelling, leadership, and creating unforgettable guest experiences – all values she says perfectly align with the enduring legacy of Star Wars.
