Every animal in the kingdom is watching the brand-new trailer for Disney’s “Mufasa: The Lion King” — including the tumble monkeys.
Following the release of the trailer this morning, the cast of Festival of the Lion King at Disney’s Animal Kingdom gathered together to watch it for the first time as one big circle of life. It’s the perfect spectacle to see any time of the year, any day of the week, with larger-than-life singers, acrobatics, and aerialists bringing Simba’s story to life.
And now, as Mufasa’s origins are explored, who better than to watch, and react, to the emotional new trailer? It’s time to return to the Pride Lands, because destiny awaits you. Find the reaction video — and the new “Mufasa” trailer — below!
“Mufasa: The Lion King” enlists Rafiki to relay the legend of Mufasa to young lion cub Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala, with Timon and Pumbaa lending their signature schtick. Told in flashbacks, the story introduces Mufasa as an orphaned cub, lost and alone until he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka — the heir to a royal bloodline. The chance meeting sets in motion an expansive journey of an extraordinary group of misfits searching for their destiny — their bonds will be tested as they work together to evade a threatening and deadly foe.
Mufasa: The Lion King arrives in theaters on December 20, 2024. Long live the king!
